Love Has No End

Comes a time when the heart hears
The heart sees, beats and feels it.
It feels the presence of a tsunami
A love incited by a someone dear.
So little love letters flaunt about
Expressing that from the heart.

You are the westerly winds
That avail the Wicked Witch of the West
Who visits my dreamland at night
Tormenting my emotions.
I dissolve in bed when I think of you,
My heartbeat stops when I see you.
You are my sugar.

Next follows a closer conversation -
Modern times dictate it be Uptown
In a restaurant renowned for the elite.
Here, two souls are united
In an abstract union in the heaven,
A heaven filled with a plethora of stars
And all beautiful things ethereal.

On the agenda follows the formal stuff
Of calling a spade indeed a spade.
I love you!
Will you be my girlfriend?
To which follows blushes and rosy cheeks,
Then of course the Yes!
And the first kiss.

These two are a match from above,
For the first month and the next
May be the third or even the seventh.
From the eighth month there is a U-turn
Due to 'unforeseen circumstances'
Such as, 'facebook' or 'space'
But mostly boredom, variety.

Each tells the other to 'move on'
As if they had been each other's obstacles
For the months that they saw no flaw.
May be they had been objects
Whose expiry date had reached.
May be just a piece of contract
Which had run out.

Such are the patterns of adult life,
A life that has bid goodbye to love.
Replacing it with material and status.
As they say everything has an end
But the hope of the modern world
Lies in a love that has no end!
